I think greeneyes is referring to what is called "The Big Society" in Great Britain these days. Sounds like they're going through tough times like we are over here in "the colonies."

yes, ''''The Big Society is all well and good if the you're a Government which is being upfront and genuine.

The Big Society concept has been dreamed up by a government which is cutting everything and asking for the public to pick up the pieces. Voluntary sector funding has been cut massively and it is the public who are expected to take charge and give give give. People with nothing - benefits that have been cut, increasing poverty. How can you care for a family member or volunteer your spare time if you're struggling to find the hard cash to heat your home in Winter????

Rant over!! :) does piss me off a lot sometimes though...

Incidentally, our new Government here is a bunch of public (for some reason public in UK means private) school old boy millionaires who couldn't give a shit about the rest of the population......plus ca change

It ain't republican or democrat - it's both!!! You wanna talk about who's responsible for the mess we are in, look no farther than the members of the privately owned Federal Reserve. Even the president is little more than a figurehead/pawn for these folks.

Until the Fed becomes transparent or is done away with, it doesn't matter which party is in power - little will change. And something tells me if we get close to doing either, people will die before they let it happen.

It's not very often that Dave and I agree on political matters, but this time I would have to mostly agree with his assessment. The trillion dollar question (pun intended) is who will die?
