i think flying pigs is a brilliant solution! however, *I* do care where they shit..as the plan is to also have 'us' on the planes...and with the amount of traveling and i do, i really would like to avoid walking in pig shit.

i think those who are convicted of being involved in the 9/11 flight disasters should be doing community service.....cleaning up after pigs...

I think that it should campaign to be a verb. Everything gets to be a verb eventually, these days..or maybe I should say everything gets tranistioned to be positioned to be tasked with acting as a verb.

I have a couple of questions. They might be kind of frivolous, but I think they're valid nonetheless. We do seem to be at war and this war is getting off to an abysmal start musically. First, we've been subjected to God Bless America over and over. Terrorism isn't enough? Then..and this is really cruel..Bob Hope is retiring at the age of 147 and Wayne Newton is taking over as official national entertainer of troops. What troops are they planning on entertaining? Senior citizens stationed in Las Vegas? I think we should send Wayne over to entertain the Taliban with his rendition of God Bless America while the rest of us switch to This Land is Your Land, making sure to include the "no one living can make me turn back" verse, and maybe some whole new verses. And the troops should be entertained by....someone entertaining. What do you guys think?

I'm also curious about our food drops, big crates?, from 37,000 ft, without parachutes?, into areas mined? and, enough to feed a few thousand out of 2 or 3 million? Seems like a multi national force to secure food convoys, into the border areas of Afghan, would be much more effective

I don't know if people are just over reacting or if we are finding more because we are looking for it, could people have had this for some time and ignored it as a flu bug?

but i certainly agree that the media is doing a lousy job of keeping a rein on emotions and leading with the truth and verifiable facts.

I think that it is just four confirmed cases of anthrax so far. There've been a bunch more people who've found to have been exposed to it, though. No, I don't think that even one of these cases of the disease or the exposure was natural. Every case of exposure or of the disease itself seems to have come through the mail, and it's at least two different strains, one of which is much less dangerous than the other. So far it's media outlets and of course, the federal government in the case of Tom Daschle's office. A tiny amount was found in a post office building near the Florida cases. Those are the confirmed facts, so far. It might or might not be connected with the September 11 terrorism and it all might or might not be connected together. I think it is connected in some way...although not necessariy as a concerted and coordinated effort with the same people who did the hijacking. But that's just my opinion. What is for sure is that while it's not that difficult to get anthrax if you have some connections or probably just enough money, it's also not something you can pick up over the counter on a whim, and it has to be processed to be able to deliver it. So, it's not just a nut or assorted mixed nuts, who, inspired by current events, and went down to 7-11 and picked up a bunch of anthrax and started sending it around. It had to have a little prior thought and planning attached to it. For all that, with care it's far from the most dangerous thing we could have happen - which is the good and bad news all wrapped up together.

I know that, as someone who opens mail in the president's office at a large university, I need to exercise caution... but I'm not gonna get paranoid about this. Universities have not received this type of mail, as far as I know.

I have a good idea of what to look for ... and now I'm looking more carefully at envelopes before opening them... nothing suspicious will be opened ...

I guess the best route to take is a balanced one... caution, balanced with confidence!

see... i'm at that sad point where I don't want to watch the news anymore, since it can unsettle me in the evenings, yet I want to watch, just to try and keep up with all the stupid stuff happening, due to faceless, nameless cowards!
I must admit, that I now go to work with a mild sense of dread some days, since i take the subway, and pass thru Penn Station... and what a terribly guilty feeling to sometimes think... "if you're gonna do something, do it while I'm NOT here!!!"

Wyldflower, they're making me wear gloves and a mask for opening mail here at work. I think the chances of something arriving in our mail is less than miniscule, but it's the new rule.
