I've thought about this, too, Larry, but on reflection the numbers may be exaggerated. The world has too many stupid pollsters asking stupid questions that nobody would have an opinion on, until they're asked by a pollster.

Voters were asked, as they exited, whether they voted based on jobs, Iraq, terrorism, or morals. The many xenophobic hicks who voted out of fear of same-sex marriages fell into the "morals" category, but they probably never voted before & likely never will again.

Hmmm ... how could they not believe in evolution ... we've got the missing link in the White House!

Bush thinks he has a mandate.
I think if we try just a little, we could get many, if not most, Bush voters to beleive that a "Man-date" means that Bush wants to date a man. I think we could win back some of the right wing bible thumpers on this one.

Following up on Larry's idea, here's my suggestion for a tv show:

"QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY"
Karl Rove sets up a "man-date" for Dubya and Cheney at an "undisclosed location." Watch the fun as Dick's daughter and Rosie O'Donnell find our leaders' lovenest and catch them in the act of making out to some Abu Ghraib prison photos.

Thanks Icj. Its a great site. Gives me renewed hope for 2008 to see so many younger people are angry and embarrased for their country. Great to think that they'll be 4 years older next time,and there will be more who are 14 now, and hopefully a landslide of older voters as the war machine saps money, the body bags keep coming and peoples rights are whittled away.

The recount is on in Ohio. This could get weird.In fact, I wish it would.

Larry, what recount is that? You mean the one wherein dubya interprets a shift of 100,000 votes in Ohio as a mandate?

Would have loved to have seen Bush score a 4 million vote plurality, only to lose the electoral vote. Could and probably will happen someday.

SOme of the third party candidates are funding a recount. Ohio law says it has to be done. Besides the original issue of the uncounted provisional ballotts, there was evidently some trouble with some of the electronic voting machines and other issues. Kerry's law team is looking at it too, but not making too much noise yet. I'm not gunna hold my breath.........but you never know.

yeah they want voters and poll workers in Ohio to testify on Sat and Mon. Read more at MM's site. Hey also read there about the Secret Service visiting Boulder High coz some kids were going to read Dylans "Masters of War" (with musical backing) and they changed the last line to something that sounded like a threat to Dubya and all hell broke loose.
