We all make a lot of spelling errors on the boards, even if we know how to spell properly most of the time. I wouldn't worry about it.

Clearing up spelling errors should be OK, though, but changing the meaning of what you post should only be done if you have second thoughts right away. Other than that, any clarifications can be made in additional posts. That's the usual board ettiquette, for the reasons Kim gave - so that the board continues to make sense..or as much sense as is possible given the circumstances.

I've never seen a thread get so off topic. But I never do that!!! Thinking of Pat's swamp land, for sale.

I'm glad I had some practice at this! Not that it'll ever get perfect. But practice, practice, practice.

carry-on my wayward son ( & daughters)

Makes me proud that I started it.

I'm not giving up on the idea, but will present it elsewhere when it's least expected, and this thread is long forgotten.

Does anyone on the Delta Queen trips remember Skinny? I think it was a trip that was locked in a lock or something?

Anyway Skinny's an old bud/coworker and I saw him today and conversation drifted to my having seen Arlo in Springfield, MO recently. He briefly mentioned meeting a great bunch of peeps on a cruise that he worked on.

Kowinkydinkley I found this post and had to post my first howdy over here. So howdy.

I never got to go to any of those trips due to lack of funds but do remember them. I bet they were fun.

So far this yr we are going to the Arlo shows at Bethesda, MD in May & Alexandria, VA in Aug. Also in May after the Arlo trip is our annual trip with my folks to stay with them in their condo in Nags Head. Should be fun. & Our annual 2 weeks trip to visit Mikes sister in OH will probably be in July & we are also going to see SLG & Johnny at the end of July in Norfolk, VA. Then in Oct around COlumbus Day is our annual trip to the reunion in KY.

I remember when the Delta Queen trip was advertised in an early RBR. I wanted to go, as it seemed natural with the trip departing from Pittsburgh, meaning that we wouldn't have the expenses of going to Pittsburgh coz we were already here. At the time, we had only 2 kids, & I think their ages then were 3 & 1, or maybe they were 4 & 2, but my wife killed the idea. She said that the kids would be bored on a riverboat & that it would be her responsibility to entertain them all week coz I would spend the entire trip "walking around the boat following Arlo & acting stupid." Can you believe she would say that about me????

She did????????????
No. You acting Stupid???????????
I don't believe it Joe!

But Arlo does have that effect on people, like me when I sat down next to him and wasn't game to open my mouth (apart from "Thanks for signing my C.D.") in case something really STUPID came out!!!

But just listening was fun.

I'm prepared for next time now that we've communicated on arlonet.

You all know how your first time meetin adg is!!!! It was just surreal for me to see him here in OZ.

It was A TRIP, when you've been a fan of his and Woody and Pete and Bob etc. for most of your life!

No I haven't been smokin anything Joe. never partook of the Demon Weed myself (oh, except when I was trapped in the middle of a crowd at Neil young, Zappa type concerts on a visit back to the states in the early '70's. or at high school partys here.

(I mean who could walk out of a a Neil Young concert just cos of a little smoke)??? .

I think I'd better go! I probably told you guys all this stuff before anyway!

I think of this thread often. Gives me a laugh at myself when I need it most. I do still have those old RBRs somewhere. Except ... I still haven't given up on the idea. So many places would be great!

Somewhere, someone said something about doing a trip on the 'City of New Orleans'... I think something like that would be awesome... a blunder-version of "Festival Express" ...
