I got this from someone on my Starsky & Hutch e-mail group. Her son is being deployed to Iraq & could use some prayers & support. Like she said It doesnt matter if you support the war or not...

Subject: [Starsky And Hutch Friends] Candles for Heroes

I have sent this to my local media and was inteviewed by ABC news
today, as many of you know, my oldest son is in the service and is
about to deploy...in just a few days...this is just breaking my
heart, several moms and I got together and decided to raise
awareness in support of our troops. It doesnt matter if you support
the war or not, what soes matter is that you support our men and
women that are serving our country...for better or worse! God Bless
them all...I was wondering if I could ask for all of your support
and also if you would PLEASE help me spread the news, nation and
even world wide...Please join us in lighting a candle and feel free
to pass this on to everyone you pass, local media, workplace,
anything will help. It makes me feel better to be doing SOMETHING,
besides just sitting back watching him go...he will be
traveling 'over there' at the precise time we do this vigil...All
your thoughts and prayers for his safety are greatly appreciated and
NEEDED...thank you!

Hello,

My name is Delia Herr and I have a 19 year old son that is a United
States Marine. I belong to a group that is called, Military Moms. As
our children are getting ready to deploy, and some that are getting
ready to come home, we have noticed a steady decline in support,
ie...yellow ribbons decorating offices and homes, American Flags
waving proudly and beind displayed on vehicles. As the anniversary
of 9/11 approaches and our children are about to, or have been,
fighting for our freedoms, we are trying to organize an event and
are asking for everyones help in getting the word out.

On September 11, 2006 at exactly 6 pm Pacific Time, 7 pm Mountain, 8
pm Central, and 9 pm Eastern, we are asking Americans to step out on
their front porch and light a candle, for the victims of 9/11 and
for the heros that continue to fight the war on terrorism, giving
their lives to ensure our freedoms. Calling this event Candles for
Heroes...Please help us show them what their sacrifices mean to us.
My son deploys on 9/10 and this is the hardest thing for me to have
to experience, but I do it, because I am proud that he has chosen to
serve his country, and I would like to do something to show him, and
the tens of thousands of others, that they are not alone. All I am
asking is for your help in spreading the word. Please let me know,
if you will be able to assist me in any way.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

Delia Herr (MilitaryMom.net)
