The Pentagon has abandoned its limit on the time a citizen-soldier can be required to serve on active duty, officials said Thursday, a major change that reflects an Army stretched thin by longer-than-expected combat in Iraq.

Quote:
The Marines announced that two infantry units - the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, and the 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment - will stay in Iraq longer than scheduled. That will enable the Marines to have a total of eight infantry battalions in western Anbar province, instead of the current six, by February. Once the extension is over, an additional two battalions will be sent in early from their U.S. bases.

"The New Plan" with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and his Band of Puppets On Our Side

Extend Tours and Rotate back sooner

Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska told Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Quote:
"I think this speech given last night by this president represents the most dangerous foreign policy blunder in this country since Vietnam, if it's carried out."

Senator George Voinovich, Republican - Ohio seems to have got the message he was sent last November
Quote:
"You're going to have to do a much better job" explaining the rationale for the war, "and so is the president."
He said Bush could no longer count on his support for the war.

Rice, the Kon, disputed Repupblican Senator Hagal's characterization of Bush's buildup as an "escalation."

Quote:
"Putting in 22,000 more troops is not an escalation?" Hagel asked. Responded Rice: "I think, senator, escalation is not just a matter of how many numbers you put in."

"Would you call it a decrease?" Hagel asked.

"I would call it, senator, an augmentation that allows the Iraqis to deal with this very serious problem that they have in Baghdad," she said.

Yes K_onee, the Iraqis do have this very serious problem, that of Bush's Iraq policy.
But you dear lady I am sure feel their Pain and Heartbreak Oh Yeah Yeah Yeah

When she disputed Hagel's contention that Iraq was in the throes of civil war
Quote:
Hagel : "To sit there and say that, that's just not true."
