when "we" have won in Iraq?

When we feed the people until they are sick of killing each other.

hmmm... if we sent over enough vegemite so every person would have some... they would probably stop thinking about war and killing each other.

Is Vegemite strong enough to end a war that's been going on since 632? Maybe so...

suppose it depends on which "we" it is....

some will call a win when our troops have left...
others won't rest until the mid-East is in a heightened state of perpetual civil war...

Some would say it's when gas is $20/gallon and 'we' are the United States of Haliburton.

Perhaps when God himself tells all involved what he is looking for in the area rather the the self-appointed spokespeople for God that seem to be on every side.

What I want to know is the real reason why we're there in the first place. Wasn't WMDs. Wasn't Operation Iraqi Freedom (that was the new name after they didn't find any WMDs. If it ain't what Bush said it was, he'll just change the name of the "operation" in mid stream and everybody will be good with it! And they were!). So, what's the reason? Why are we really there? How can you win when you don't know what it is that Dubya & company wanted to "win" to begin with?

Well, I heard on TV what defines a loss and that is setting a deadline and leaving. I mean how can you argue with that. People would say, "ya we lost that cause the deadline to win came and we left." So does that mean we have to stay there forever to win? I mean, we want to win, so all the people can be better off than they were before we went. Staying there sucks! Those guys on TV must know what their talking about! So I was kinda of depressed, all mopy in the garden picking weeds and stuff and then I thought, "Hey, I know how we can win, we can just leave." Don't set no deadline, just get on the boats and planes and go back home! have victory parades and kiss in the street. Just sneak right up on the day we leave and leave! That way we don't have a deadline, so nobody can say "oh you lost". If they do we can just puff up our chest and say, "there was no deadline, we did what we did and left, we left because we were done! Nothing left to do! People are better off now that we did that, we won!

Hey, I'm a Pool Player who has racked and ran plenty of racks. And I would never get mad at anyone who paid me first, like for real, feed the Middle Eat instead of dropping bombs on them.

My first guess that we are there is because of oil. Still we could of dropped food on them until they were full.
We can't right now drop trilltions of dollars of food on Russia and China to make up for the cold war. But we can prevent bomb, bomb Iran as Macain sang on TV LAST WEEK.-to the tune of the beach boys.

WHY

Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC.

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.

It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.

I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 **(where have I heard that name before?)**. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.
