Some of you might have remembered me losing a great friend, over a yr. ago, from complications from emphazema... Marcuss Green...

Marcuss's worst fear was his son Eric getting re-deployed to Iraq.... ( Eric came home from his funeral, and managed to stay in Montana, fighting fires)

If Q-tip (Eric) wanted to get a deferrment, he could.... He's the last living relation, of the Green family to carry on his name....

But Q, like the brave soul he is ( his Dad would call him stupid ) is heading back to Iraq, as I type this note....

My hats off to you Q-tip.... Glad your Dad isn't around to hear about this. Altho I think he just might know.....

I just pray you get outta there alive my friend..... There'll be a party waiting when you get here.... ntm: rb should be off probation by then.....

All I can say, is poor bastard!!!! I wish I could take your place. I would..

Peace out/RB

There are a lot of folks in the military who go back because their buddies/sisters/brothers are still over there. It's another kind of family. Sometimes the heart compels us to do things that may be hard for others to fathom. May the Fates keep him and all the others safe. You're right, RB. Damn this war.

I hear you, Zap...my nephew was in the Marines, and went to Iraq twice...he was in that mess in Fallujah. He lost a lot of buddies over there, and by the end of his second tour he was more than ready to finish out his time and go back to college and have a normal life. Luckily, he did not get sent back a third time before he got out. He's finishing up his education at a university in Texas now...we're glad he survived.
