I came across this article in the NY Times the other day, and followed up by watching the Lecture the article discusses (it's 70 minutes long, so make time to watch it!)
This guy will blow you away.
He's the real deal. A real life role model, and inspirational speaker, trying to live what's left of his life in the best possible way, for all the right reasons.
Please watch the lecture video, read his web blog, and i'm convinced you'll marvel at this guy like i am.

What a great show about a wonderful man! He's someone who really "gets it", in my opinion. I have to look for his book now.

I had read an article about him and so I wanted to see the show, but I was afraid it would be a tear-jerker. Not at ALL! I can't wait to read the book, as well. Both he and his wife are extraordinary.

very unusual for me to be so "taken" by someone... but his sincerity shines through... sort of how I felt about arlo when I first started listening and seeing him.

He was on a show awhile ago... wonder why he's in the spotlight again? He still looks great, considering.

The show (and the related articles published recently) was timed to be broadcast in concurrence with publication of the book. It's a commercial move, but I see it as a concerted effort to insure his estate a healthy income. If they waited to do this posthumously, I don't think it would have as much impact.

Well, as he's stated it's for his kids...who are going to grow up without him. The baby probably won't even remember him; at least they'll have the book and film. I see it as brilliant; he'll be able to provide for his wife and family and the kid's educations even after he's gone. Presently, he's an inspiration to us all.

Randy Pausch finally lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday July 25th, but death cannot stop the message he espoused, nor the example he set.

I was thankful that his book earned $6 million so far...he not only was an inspiration to millions of people, he also left a legacy for his family...the profits from the book will provide for them for a long time and ensure his three kids their college educations. It's remarkable that he was able to accomplish so much in the time that he had left.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Even though I didn't say anything at the time, I appreciate you posting the information about him.
