it's nearly impossible for us locals to stop talking about or watching the news about Sen. Kennedy's health... many of us have shed more than a few tears today...
though there are those who aren't crazy about the Kennedy's....
they have done and do more than many know for the people of Massachusetts and the whole country....

Sen. Kennedy has a remarkable record for 40 years and in the past few has stood up against the Bush administration with great fervor and alot of work... and legislation...

with his spirit, it is most encouraging that he will beat this battle for his life...
but some blundervibes and prayers if that's what you do would help no doubt.... it's a tough battle...

kj, I was helping a student with her final exam project and noticed she was logged into her yahoo mail... and there were the headlines! I was stunned. I totally forgot what my student needed as I began to read the article. My condolences and healing vibes to the Kennedy clan and the folks of MA.

I never cared for him politically but prayers & vibes from me. We may not all agree politically but we're all humans and are on this earth together & have to hang in there together. So vibes and hope he gets thru this okay...

Whether we all know it or not, we owe this man a great deal. Is he perfect? No. He's human. Is he one of the great Americans? Oh, yeah. Those Blundervibes have been going to him since he collapsed, but today the volume went way up.

We happened to be in MA when the initial report came out of the Cape. Everyone on the street looked stunned. Now, back in Jersey, hearing the diagnosis reported today, I'm so saddened that this man has to endure this awful disease.

He is a multimillionaire. He could have sat on his yacht and let the world be his servant. Instead he devoted his life to making this crazy world an easier & better place. Even imagining the pain political life has done to his immediate family no one could have blamed him if he ran and hid. Instead he fought for what was right.

Yes, as Ceashell said, he is not perfect. But which one of them, of us, is? But how many people have been so selfless at the same time. My Blundervibes are definitely sent to the last remaining corner of Camelot. And to Caroline Kennedy - imagine that "poor" kids life?

My brother wrote a letter to both Ted and Bobby Kennedy after JFK was killed, pushing for a national holiday in his memory.

A few years later we peddeled our bikes across town to hear Bobby speak at the first mall in town in March of '68. It was a very short speach. I later got a copy of that speach from a nice person at the Kennedy library. I remember the day Bobby was killed some forty years ago.

These so called public servants of today would be held to different standards if Bobby had made this country into what we should have become. Nixon never would have been elected. War over.

Prayers and good vibes for Teddy to recover.

I met Ted Kennedy in the 60s, and hold him in esteem for the life long commitment he has made to public service.

The reports I read are quite grim , and I understand the tears , kj, in MA, and around the country, for him.

It brings to mind the Last Lecture, posted here in case you are not amoung the 2.3 million viewers who have listened to, and been inspired by a dying man's reflections. It seems appropriate, in that Ted has been living his childhood dreams, and those of his brothers, too.

On reading more about it this morning, I realized that what Ted Kennedy has is a glioma. He will not beat this. It's the kind of tumor our dear friend Bill had several years ago. It's relatively rare, and it always wins. (9,000 Americans are diagnosed with a glioma per year--that's a very small percentage, but they all die from it within just a few years.) Thanks to Bill's indomitable spirit and his reliance only partly on medical doctors but also on alternative medicine and on the positive energy of all those who sent it--including, in large part, this Blunderite community--Bill lived three times longer than the doctors said he would. He chose to make a trip and do some other things he'd always wanted to do. He took the time to spend with people he cared about, and he died in peace. Thank you all again for what you did for Bill. I will do my best to send those Blundervibes to Sen. Kennedy. There have been times that he stood virtually alone to preserve what is unique and precious about this country. Maybe we can stand for him now.

So sorry about your friend Bill. This is sad news. Vibes...

the Senator was discharged from the hospital yesterday...
he went to the Hyannisport Kennedy home...

....and went sailing...

no doubt he will live until he dies...
my prayer is for alot more good living...
the dying comes along anyway...
