Countdown...0

It is finally here.

We have had a long painful stretch, a fully barbed wire enema, stem to stern.

Today we have hope to begin to heal.

Win or lose - what will you do?

Win - We may celebrate with an adult beverage, or ten. Maybe go outside and bang pots and holler with joy to God and everyone who can hear me about my love for the light at the end of this tunnel.

Lose - Go for a hike at the river, and let nature wash over me and soothe my pain.

Win - Celebrate with an adult beverage or two. Go outside and dance in the street, which should amuse our neighbors no end.

Lose - Celebrate with 10 or so adult beverages, throw up, then assume the fetal position. Next morning, contact Louise about that barn.

so for today i am happy for what feels like a good start...
a remarkable victory of the spirit... where everyone can celebrate that if those most marginalized in our country can rise up, it is a victory for everyone...

and i'm loving my state, that elected with a 2/3 majority; defeated an attempt to do away with state income tax....fiscally responsible folks!!...
closed down the race tracks that are killing dogs... and took a small step toward officially decriminalizing marijuana....

God Bless America... 8)

The next four years wouldn't be fun no matter who won, with all the mess that has to be cleaned up by the next administration. At least we know it will be cleaned up, and not made worse.

what does that mean?

People are losing their savings. People are losing their houses. Terrorism is alive and kicking! And, the world has no respect for us as a people. People are dying of disease and poverty and internicine war all over the globe!

Nothing funny about any of that so stop LOL. We elected a leader who actually affected an out pouring of true selfless emotion. People have been crying with joy for no apparent reason all over the globe because for the first time in years they feel there is hope for tomorrow.

What is it Cheryl? What do you want us to say? I'll tell you what I want. I really really want everything the following stand for: GWBush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Bill O'Reilly, James Kennedy, Osama Bin Laden, Binyamin Netanyahu, Mullah Mohammed Omar, King Abdullah and anybody else who approaches the people of the world in a selfish and dangerous manner and are a threat to peace and freedom, I want everything they stand for to be torn asunder...and, it has nothing to do with labels like liberal or conservative or rignt wing or left wing or gay or straight or atheist or christian or muslim or baseball fan or soccer fan or hockey mom or Joe the Plumber.

It has to do with Peace and Freedom!

You're right, Cheryl, we're going to miss out on the following top ten "fun" people and events of the past Bush years:

10. Karl Rove and Dick Cheney.

9. Veto of Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act.

8. Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib prisons.

7. Adding $4 trillion to national debt, and cutting taxes on the rich.

6. FEMA response to Hurricane Katrina.

5. Eavesdropping on the citizenry through warrantless wiretaps.

4. War in Afghanistan.

3. War in Iraq.

2. Economic meltdown.

1. 9/11.

mikey
