Yeah, really looking forward to next week and the new regime taking over. Kinda feels like the 60's again, but hopefully sans the political asassinations.
Feelin' a bit more hopeful for the U.S. again, but I'm not to sure about my home state of Connecticut; our dear Madame Governor appointed the CEO of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment to the State Board of Education, http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hc ... 0959.story. Not sure I want decisions on the education of our future leaders made by the keeper of a bunch of testosterone crazed side show performers.

Oh yeah Pete is gonna be on an inaugural musical show on HBO on Sun. Supposedly HBO will make it free on all cable & satellite systems so folks can see it for free...

Just got home from seeing Sarah Lee and Johnny in Rhode Island, and they said they're gonna be in the inaugural show in NY tomorrow (almost today!), singing "This Land Is Your Land" with Bruce Springsteen!
Their show was excellent, as always, by the way, and their new CD/DVD is out! Woo-hoo!

I am so happy Pete was invited -- all that "work" he's done over the years contributed to this inauguration and he deserved to be there on stage. I just finished watching the last half of the encore on HBO (notwithstanding I'm in DC, I have difficulty with crowds that large and went to a movie instead, will catch up on the first half later) -- I didn't see Sarah Lee and Johnny, but did see (and hear!) Tao. Were they there and just not introduced, on earlier, or?

I'm still getting a chuckle from the fact that he got everybody to sing the "private property" verse....

Stock alert: buy Kimblerly-Clark! Judging by the amount of Kleenex used in this house yesterday afternoon, by tomorrow night their stock should be way up! (But these are good tears, unlike all those we've shed in the last eight years.)

Although I didn't see the concert, the fact that "A Change is gonna come!" is the ONE thing that we can agree on... Just not what that change will be perhaps, lol!

If nothing else, he's already "changed" the fucking traffic in and around DC... thankfully I have off tommorow! I did love the way Bush declared a state of emergency for DC.

The traffic jams on the streets of DC are paled when compared to the gridlock and chaos on the deadend oneway streets that make up the neural net in the Bush cranium.

Truth be told, it was BUSH who caused the traffic jams... by not allowing the Obama family to move into the oversized Blair House a few weeks early to accommodate the kids' first days of school.
