Dear Employee,

As the CFO of this business that employees 140 people, I have resigned myself to the fact that Barrack Obama is our new President, and that our taxes and government fees will increase in a BIG way. To compensate for these increases, I figure that the Clients will have to see an increase in our fees to them of about 8%, but since we cannot increase our fees right now due to the dismal state of our economy, we will have to lay off eight of our employees instead. This has really been eating at me for a while, as we believe we are family here and I didn't know how to choose who will have to go.

So, this is what I did. I strolled thru our parking lot and found 8 Obama bumper stickers on our employees' cars and have decided these folks will be the first to be laid off. I can't think of a more fair way to approach this problem. These folks wanted change; I gave it to them.

If you have a better idea, let me know.

Sincerely,

The Boss

Dear CFO,

Since it's apparent that you have sipped the Rush Limbaugh kool-aid to excess, let me offer some ideas. We know from his own words that Rush wants Obama to fail, because he does not fit the Rush model. The fact that if Obama fails, the country does too, seems to be less important to Rush than proving out his failed extreme ideaology.
First, even though I believe in capitalism, I also believe that underregulated capitalism run by those that put selfish greed above reasonable personal and social ambition are the major cause of our current economic problems. Since the average CEO make something like 250 to 500 times the average worker, and the average CFO might still make 25 to 50 times or more than the average worker, if we were to simply cut the paychecks of those 2 in half, they would still be rich, and not only could we not fire 8 people, we could hire 140 new people.
If we did that, we would not only help people, but help to improve the economic health of the economy as a whole, and at some future point, you may get a nice raise again. Besides Mr. CFO, since your greed and policies were a major cause of the mess we are in now, and you were forced to take that bailout money, you have to agree to take a paycut anyway. Or, any recently graduted accounting student with decent grades could do your job for a fraction of your salary, and would probably be happy to take the job in this climate. So, maybe we should just lay YOU off. I'll suggest it to the CEO.
Thanks,
A 30 year loyal employee.

The Wiz tells it like it is. Now if Obama would only practice what he preaches. He wants to cut out pork barrel spending yet wants to fund overseas abortions. Maybe Dave should run for Prez next time...

Wait, Cheryl....fund overseas abortions??? (if we could just fund them here maybe we'd be able to stop the spread of ignorance) Please supply your source for this one. If it's Rush (or any other whining conservative pundit, or the fear mongering republicans in the house and senate, just say, "Ok, I've been duped again"

I'm sorry, this is just way too much to stomach.

You'd give the boot to eight of your family members over some bumper stickers? That's cold man......

Perhaps we should do as Bush would to find the real trouble makers?
However, that may mean detaining and waterboarding everyone that voted for Bush.

Isn't this really the issue!

so you are blaming Obama for 50 years of procastinating on health care while allowing the oil companies excessive wealth acquisition and wealth transfer and the turning of America into a services society while allowing our infrastructure to decay all coupled to an idiotic foreign policy and fueled by such mental giants as Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Jerry Falwell and George W Bush!

You actually have the nerve to tell people they are losing there jobs because of Obama?

That is just f'ng disgusting!!!!!! DONT YOU HAVE A CONSCIENCE AT ALL?

Wow, I'm surprised that you'd consider blaming someone who has only been in office for what(?) three months for the current state of our economy? Surprised, really surprised.

I did not want to post in here, but felt it may help to point out that dave is enjoying playing you.

Do any of you really think dave wrote the letter in the first post?

I am sorry, but I do not think highly of him.

I am thankful for this site, because I love what Arlo represents and enjoy the loving and caring views here.

I think I remember the last time dave had an original thought and posted it. And I'm trying to be a good person, so I will not remind anyone of what was posted way back then.

Please try not to reward his bad behavior by responding to his bigoted posts.

If you feed it, it grows.

I prefer to leave it to quietly wither alone.

Doug

Actually, I do think highly of Dave. I don't think highly of some of his political veiws, but I can seperate them from him.
To not talk stuff out is unAmerican. To not talk at all, is like the people who trash Obama for saying he would talk to Iran. The exchange of ideas is better than the exchange of bullets.

Thanks for that Larry. I'll keep trying to be a better person.

Love.

I will try to love the pardoxical nature of this web site, even though my tiny brain may never understand it.

I mean, this is Arlo's web site. Arlo, the singing, writing, war protesting hippie wierdo-freak.

I have looked up to Arlo since I was a little kid in 6th grade, in '69. I enjoy his music and what Arlo has come to represent. Peace, freedom, and standing up against things that are wrong.

It has been said that we are only what we hate. While I try not to hate, it looks like I got a bit of bigot in me.

Is there such a thing as a love bigot?

It may be eaiser for you to love dave than for me. I see only what he posts here and know nothing else about him.

Ha, plus aren't you on the payroll?

The paradox of this place you say?

Well, perhaps there is a paradox within each of us. One that may pertain to me is that I wear a peace sign necklace, and explain to my friends that I have enough hippie in me to believe in the concept that it stands for, but just enough hockey player in me to kick your ass if you try to rip it off my neck or give me too much shit about it! :D
