Cameron has done it. Wow!

We saw it last weekend; it was so good, it made me want to paint myself blue and run through the treetops! It was amazing!

Whe saw it to a week ago , a good movie . Buth Sue , when i go out here naked i dont have to paint myself blue . I am gonna be blue enyway ( its - 10 degrees cold overhere )

Celcius or Fahrenheit? It was 4 Fahrenheit here last night. That's -15.5 Celcius. Like Lapland in October. Brrrrr!

The thermometer here read -16 F this morning. I think I'm officially tired of winter now. Less than 60 days til March is here!!! Yippee!!!!!

Len, did you see it in 3D or conventionally? I've heard the 3D version at the start can make you queasy if you're prone to motion sickness.

I saw the 3D. It can make you queasy if you fight it. If you stare at the 3D aspects really hard, it can make you queasy because the eye and the ear send conflicting signals. Meanwhile the brain seems to try to flatten it back into 2D because that is how it usually handles a screen image. People who play a lot of 3D games don't seem to have a problem and I found when I consciously switch over to that mindset, any twinges went away, and as long as I let the brain do what it does naturally, no problems at all.

So yes, a twinge. No, not bad at all. I think it's a training issue; iow, once you acclimate, it isn't a problem.

It's well worth it. The 3D is gorgeous. One thing Cameron did that was smart was emphasize the negative z-axis (into the screen instead of out of it) so things aren't jumping out at you as most 3D movies have done. He reserved the positive Z (out of the screen toward you) for subtle effects that are enchanting. I'm going back to see it again with my son this weekend.

The review I heard that had the 3D comment encouraged potential viewers not to let that stop them from seeing the movie. Haven't been yet - a lot will depend on the disposable income situation (which is now only unemployment money) Thanks for the additional info Len.

Also.. one brought home the 3D glasses while the other said, " I was good, I recycled!"

well i went and had a look at one of the movie trailers and it reminded me ever so slightly of a movie i saw in the 80s (i believe) called the emerald forest and remembering now i recall what was probably one of my favourite parts and i seem to remember it most....(somewhere in the mayhem) some of the indigenous women of the forest (i think that they and their people were called the invisible people?) had been captured by...i don't know, but they were from outside of the forest...part of the "civilized" world...anyway, they had been captured by them and made into prostitutes which involved their wearing some outfits they had them wearing...but anyway, that camp got raided and the women were rescued (they were free to run!) and as they ran back toward there home in the forest they right away liberated themselves of every piece of clothing they had on (they had never before worn clothes...at least not much of it?) and threw each piece far behind them with much repugnance as they ran away
