I feel like I'm going through a massacree myself, Arlo and friends.

My roommate and I  are dealing now with a bed bug situation. We reported it  to the managers and they want to hold *us* financially responsible because they think we brought it in and we don't know if we did or not. They seem to have a really frightened angry attitude about us bringing it in and left *us* to pay the bill.  T., our manager, said "You brought it in, didn't you?". It's possible, but we don't know for sure. I mean it's like someone sneezing on us and us bringing germs in without meaning to!

I fear that, because we're having some trouble organizing to prep for the heat treatment,  we may be facing an eviction if we can't comply properly because of the nature of our belongings situation. I read something online about that!

If we have to move, we don't have a place to go.

We were advised, by some, experts,  that in the state of California and in San Diego the landlord has a legal right to hold us financially responsible if they think we caused the problem.  The Environmental Protection Agency says that landlords should not blame tenants! Would you agree with the EPA? Here's the link to the EPA website and the article that I looked up if you want to read it:

https://www.epa.gov/bedbugs/what-landlo ... t-bed-bugs

T.  thinks that we caused the problem and he seems to be very angry about it. Or at least very fearful. For us,  this produces very stressful living conditions for Roger and myself.

We both have extreme anxiety and depression.  Roger has major depression he is still struggling to work a gig job that is unpredictable and I'm still unable to work because of my anxiety and PTSD.

We have spent four years trying to cope with our situation with the noise of the neighbors upstairs of which nothing has been done about, by the landlord or by any authorities, even though we've talked about it repeatedly. We have  just *recently* discovered the bed bug problem and we didn't even know what the bed bugs were we thought they were gnats! The EPA has also advised landlords to educate tenants about bed bugs to prevent it from happening we had no idea we had bed bugs. We couldn't even identify them.

The reason I'm telling you this is because I feel like we're going through our own massacree situation. The people that are dealing with us right now don't even want to lift a finger to help us without charging us more. I don't even know if they'll help. I doubt it.

This isn't even a move; this is to help Roger move some vinyl records out in boxes so that the heat treatment can be performed.  We don't know who to turn to; we have turned to many people/charities, and social agencies and such and have gotten nowhere.

Bullied by our landlord. Treated like criminal.
Oh....man.

We are appealing to our renter's in insurance company now; filed a claim this afternoon. At least they are going to confront our landlord. Still not sure they can help...

Insurance is not covering this.
Hopefully, we are getting help from an outfit that deals with hoarding issues. That's the main thing we need to explain to our landlord...

After we had scheduled for a meeting with a specialist to go through our stuff to prep for bedbug treatment, our landlord texted the specialist (behind our backs!) and, without our consent, *cancelled the meeting*. He bullied her into not coming over. He told a totally *false* story to her, about our credit being bad. After we had all agreed on the arrangement.
Landlord is a gaslighter.
"Someone, Ms. E., brought in those bugs and you ought to be kicked out, you progressive perversion." That seems to be his attitude.
My truth is, "Someone, sir, is wrongfully accusing *us* of being dirty, uncooperative, undesirable, tenants."
Our massacree is getting hilarious.

we're struggling to clean out the clutter in our apartment right now and we have a fighting chance to keep our home and have our bed bug treatment. they're supposed to come over tomorrow and treat and I pray that they don't just turn around and tell us they can't do it because of our clutter problem.

Pest control should be nationalized, or, at least affordably insured so that landlords, tenants, and homeowners can financially deal with the problem. And blame does no good. He can't even prove who was responsible for the contamination!
