Near where I live is a place called Carter Family Fold, located in Hilton's Va., it is in fact the home of the Carter Family, the first family of country music, they were the first to go to Bristol,TN/Va and record country music. The Carter Family Fold is located at the family home and is sort of a place to "make music in the old time style", I myself just discovered the place due to the birthday celebation, I went to check it out and was greeted by an elderly lady who I later discovered to be Jeanette Carter, one of the first family, her sister June married Johnny Cash and they have a home on the property....

Anyway if you like Bluegrass and I know the B. Rabbit is a big fan, then you should some day find yourself at the Family Fold. Jeanette explains that the Family Fold refers to the flock of family that returns each year for the first friday in August and to all those friends and family that come each Saturady night to sing or just be entertained. they have RV parking and all that but I don't think there is any food service or hotels for several miles.

Hey did I say anything about the other blue grass events held in the area, or that Tennessee Ernie Ford was also born just down the road as well, bless his pea picking heart.

I've heard of that place & it sounds like a neat place to go to. I think Jannette Carter lives there & plays autoharp. The Autoharp is a cool instrument! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> I'd lvoe to go there if I ever got the chance...
