North Carolina - Rep. candidate for Congress, Robin Hayes, is offering escorts from the National Rifle Association for volunteers working in immigrant neighborhoods. An e-mail sent out on Sept. 12th to Republicans in the county by Hayes' campaign managers said volunteers need not fear. "NRA members will cover neighborhoods that might be uncomfortable for some volunteers." However, one campaign manager later said that he hoped the NRA escorts would not be carrying guns.

saw that, ters...and i agree with you! they're trying to backpedal, now that the people in said neighborhoods were offended, and are saying they didn't mean to imply that there was any kind of reason to be scared in some areas. uh huh..
