I think Mr Lott is very truthful and in many ways he is correct.
Had the American people voted for and supported keeping the colored folks in their place and the women out of power then maybe the white trash would have kept in their place as well. The goverment should be there to support the holy works of those in power, God loves the rich man and would not have made them rich otherwise.
Why is it that others can not see the justice of this?
Rights and freedoms of the common man are always talked about by the democrats, well what about the rights and freedoms of the rich? Hell, today a rich man can not do as he pleases with his staff and his own land, why is that?
God gave the rich the land and all that is in it, it's heaven's way of saying that the rich are a better class of people and they should not have to answer to the same laws as others.
If a white man is walking down the street with his wife and a negro boy speaks to the wife then a fellow ought to be able to hang the little bastard, hell, how else will the colored folks learn their place.
Now a man sometimes has to correct his wife, a little beating now and again only lets them know they are loved, spare the rod and spoil the child I say. No, a woman's place in in the home, tending the children and taking care of her man. God himself intended it that way.
Maybe if we could get a few more Trent Lott's in power we could get back to those good old days.
Thank God the goverment is being headed in the right direction, all them silly rights are being overturned and things will soon be getting back to were they ought to be. The American White Man, who has money is, and should always remain, above the common law.

When this country was founded, there were no blacks in goverment, or browns, or yellows and the only good indian was a dead one. Women could not vote and the rich man who owned the land was free to do with it, as he damn well pleased. He owned his wife, kids and workers and that is how it ought to be again.

God Bless our President, our Country and the mighty bombs that keep us in power, God Bless our Flag and God bless Trent Lott.

Obviously it's nice to see a guy like Trent Lott squirm. And his apology is pretty worthless. While he may retract it, he said it, and it's obvious he believes it. Just watch the tape, and the smug pride on his face as he says it. Of course I personally feel the guy is not worthy of the Senate, anyone who thinks Strom Thurmond is a "great" man has some problems IMO.

Also funny is the same people who think Bill Clinton should have been lynched for lying about a blowjob have no problem with Trent lying about harboring racist sentiments.

That said, I worry about John Kerry or other Dems calling for his resignation. He should resign, but if it looks like the Dems are trying to capitalize on this, it could backfire on them. I'd hate to see that happen over a Trent Lott moment of idiocy.

Yeah....what Pat said.
Lott didn't really say anything that we didn't know he was thinking anyway.Rumor has it, that he was the one who supplied the little black guys hanging on nooses from oak trees that adorned Stroms birthday cake.
I don't know, but perhaps since this was a birthday party, perhaps good 'ole boy Trent had a cocktail or three before he spoke. If so, I think that's a wondeful thing!I mean that is when the truth comes out! In fact, I would think he may have done the country a service, if we can learn from this.
Here is my idea:

In all future elections, we should have what will be come to be known as "The Trent Lott Law". This law would read that anyone seeking office must submit to a series of debates with ones opposition, including a question and answer session with the press.
The format would be:
a) Debate number one, all participants are sober.
b)Debate number two, all participants are drunk as frat boys on spring break.
c)Debate number three, all participants toke on a peace pipe filled with some really good Columbian weed.
d)Debate number four, all participants are injected with truth serum one hour before the debate.
e) Debate number five, all the members of the press are loaded with the drugs of their choice, regardless of how sober or unsober the debate participants are.

By this time, the truth will have come out, and it's time to cast our votes.

I may just run for friggin' senate!

Or, in the meantime, just in case this may be some kinda virus or something, perhaps we could get Trent to donate some blood , and we could make and bottle some Trent Lott Truth Serum, and send a case to Saddam, and perhaps save a bottle or two for Dubya.
It might work????

Larry, good idea(s)!

We might also want some samples from some members of the press--is there also a "report the truth" virus going around? Why else would they actually dig into and report Lott's record on civil rights? I mean . . . I MEAN . . . he's a Republican--they don't DO that to those good ol' boys.

Larry, you've got my vote, even if you're not running in my state. I'm sure something can be worked out.
