I didn't know much about this guy, but after listening to MPR all day, he was apparently pretty well liked by people on both sides of the fence.

On the same show, both Ted Kennedy and George Will were praising the man profusely. Those two probably don't toast the same man too often I'm guessing.

So East Coasters, give us your thoughts about the Senator.

Not an east coast resident lcj but what I've been reading about the man is damn near nothing but all good, from both sides of the fence, like you said. The web articles are many and practically all are echoing the same mutual sentiments about the late Senator. For a politician, sounds like he possessed a rare element of both brains and a genuine concern for the American people fighting for a better quality of living. Here are just a few words spoken about the late Senator Moynihan from some who knew him.

Well, I always voted for him. I liked him a lot. Took him a little for granted, though. It didn't seem like his kind was going to be so rare at one time.

The only ones Senator Pat Moynihan ticked off were the oppressively unreasonable. (i.e., Archie Bunker and John Faith - oops - same guy!) He was brilliant and fair. A true New Yorker...the best compliment I can give anyone. He touched so many lives for the better.
