you can’t say no to a man with a hand grenade

I should have posted this a long time ago...or maybe not...maybe you've already seen it...I haven't really been readinig it...but my wife has been reading exerpts to me since at least a couple of months before the war...

If you look at the archives, you'll see that Raed stopped posting about the same time Bagdad lost phone service and electricity. He didn't stop writing though, and as soon as he was able to pay for a little bit of internet time he emailed what he had been writing to someone that could post it.

I remember something he said that really got me..."Don't let anybody ever tell you they are going to liberate you with a war."...

I've been reading Salam Pax since before the war started, too... (I should have posted the link) He seems very real to me... and not afraid to "tell it like it is" from his perspective. We need to hear more from people who are living through the mess in Iraq. I've followed his links to other Blogs and articles - and always found something worthwhile.

When Salam Pax stopped posting due to conditions in Baghdad, I was afraid for his life... But I kept checking, and it was a relief when he posted again - I emailed to my daughter who had told me about this Blog to give her the good news! But I can't help but think of the many people who would not be able to post - because they are no more.
