I'm sure you've all heard about Art Garfunkel's arrest for possession of a couple of grams of MJ... well... He decided NOT to pay the fine... He will have his day in court!

Amazing all the hassling over a personal amount of MJ. Glad he's fighting it, someone has to finally do something about the idiosy of this nonsense (is that redundant?)

But you're missing the point!

The county surely needs the money. Also, without these drug laws and stiff penalties for small amounts of mj, there'd be no need for new jails, which would deny jobs to scads of construction workers. Might even have to close some prisons, which would put prison guards and other prison employees out of work. There'd be no "War Against Drugs," thereby making all kinds of government workers redundant (I think there's an oxymoron in there somewhere). The police would have to investigate true crimes (and there's still plenty of those) or worse yet, write more traffic tickets to justify their jobs. Why, the entire legal system would nearly buckle--how many lawyers (on both sides) depend on drug cases for a living?

These are just a few areas that I could think of right now that would be affected by reasonable drug laws (or lack thereof). Surely you see that we'd be practically risking our whole way of life if mj were legalized.
