Thursday a day late in what we really know?

10 men gone. Fighting a City that says we are wrong. Little children burning they're new flag. America made it, that shouldn't be our bag. Men in prisons being abused. No the Iraqi's cannot be amused. Riding in hum-vees without bulletproof shields. Roadside bombs made of muscle & steel. A 90 day stay in a place far away, sapposed to go home to fight another day? The Prez he says he sleeps good at nite. I'd guess he is lying and sits up with fright. Does he think of the coffens laden with flags? Or is he worried his votes won't get him shagged? Think of this when your lying in bed. Most people in the world wish George Bush Dead. /but they don't have a reason for hating our guts. Rumsfeld gave them weapons now they think him a 10,000,000 dollar smuck. So in November go to the polls. John Kerry's our only chance, for the peace to unfold. I think of the hero's that roll threw my head, thinking they'd be much better off, if not they were dead.

Just one of the chants from the march on Sunday. Simple and not original by any means, but it keeps running through my head; it needs to run through lots of heads for the next six months+:

On Tuesday, I talked with a Republican friend (!) on the one issue: women's right to control their own bodies and make their own medical decisions. I started with the issue and kept presidential politics out of it until we had a solid common ground of agreement. It took two days for her to read and think about it, but yesterday she said that although she can't quite bring herself to vote for a Democrat, she just will not vote this time. I call that a victory. Tiny but important if we do it enough. Talk to people! Not just talking among ourselves, but with everyone, everywhere.

Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on lots of things... I've kinda decided not to vote also. It'll be a first for me, I was the first 18 year old to register in my neighborhood back when the voting age changed. I haven't missed an election day since. But I can't bring myself to vote for Bush and I'm still not comfortable enough with Kerry. Maybe by November, I'll have made a firm decision one way or the other. If not, I guess I'll stay home.

It's a tough call, one I'm not proud of.

It's a simple situation - if you are strongly against bush, then you implicitly are for SOMEONE ELSE. Now, you may not like that other choice, but let's face it... if you vote or not, SOMEONE is gonna win the election. By casting your vote AGAINST BUSH you INCREASE the odds that the opponent may win the electoral vote in your district. Remember, you are not a tiny vote in the whole country, but a representative vote in your district. If your district is largely republican, giving up your vote is a poor tactic. Converting votes to Democrat at this point appears to be the only viable alternative. Thus, you're stuck with whoever (kerry at this point) fills that slot. Sorry, but them's the facts.

Yes, like the alternative or not, one must vote. It all boils down to the lesser of two evils. Altho I agree, John Kerry is about as monotone as a person gets. HE does have allot of experience in govt. He has seen what War is like from both sides of the fence. When it comes right down to it, he's our only salvation at this point.

AKA: IT couldn't get any worse. Can we all agree on that???

I'm not a songwriter, but if I were, I'd be trying my hand at adapting the "Watergate Song": not "Watergate...Watergate..." but "If he didn't know about that one, then what else don't he know?" From terrorism in 2001 to prisoner abuse in 2004. He sure is following in Daddy's footsteps and Nixon's Republican legacy on "not knowing."

I gotta say, there's a lot to be said for the singin' and stuff!

I'm watching a GREEN ACRES marathon on TVLAND & on this episode somone says to Mr Douglas that in this state there are no Democrats or Republicans. LOL! That's an interesting 60's political comment there.
