No U.N. inspectors for U.S. vote

The House voted against allowing U.N. inspectors to observe voting in the U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL) was not happy:

“I come from Florida, where you and others participated in what I call the United States coup d'etat. We need to make sure it doesn't happen again,” Brown said. “Over and over again after the election when you stole the election, you came back here and said, 'Get over it.' No, we're not going to get over it. And we want verification from the world.”

They then voted (along party lines) to have her remarks stricken from the Congressional record.

As a sort of follow-on to Rep. Brown's efforts in the House of Representatives to call attention to the way Florida assisted in the Bush takeover of the White House, there is a flap over Florida's election laws taking place in Tallahassee now. It seems that the Sunshine State is one of only seven states that permanently deny convicted felons the right to vote even after they complete their sentences. This archaic and unjust system is being lobbied for change by the ACLU and State Sen. Les Miller, among others. Right now, only Florida, Iowa, Virginia, Nebraska, Alabama, Kentucky, and Mississippi have this onerous law on their books, whereby an ex-felon has to get the Governor's permission to exercise his franchise, which seems unconstitutional to me.

Well, I say to all of you who don't live down here that the good news about Florida is that most of the snakes that crawl are NOT poisonous, which is more than you can say for most of the two-legged snakes that govern us.

Some where police uniforms. A friend's daughter was turned away from the polls - TWICE - by cops. Scuse me. My Black friend's daughter was turned away from the polls (in Miami) TWICE - by cops.

She didn't even think about it being an issue, til later.

The way this survey is set up, if two (or more) countries have the same rating, they are listed under the same number, alphabetically... which is why the United States follows Greece, and does NOT have the number 32 in front ....

damn.... #31 (or 32)

Just shows how smart I am...

Hope you know I meant no insult... I sometimes find this kind of survey result confusing, and wanted to clarify....
