I noticed this on an election breakdown map in my local paper:

If the election were based ONLY on states that border our good neighbor to the north, then Kerry would have won by an electoral vote of 80 to Bush's 10. Let's hope some of Canada's "great white hope" spreads into some of our red states these next four years.

Even though I happen to live in a "red" area, I would hate to see what goes on in local politics down here ("good ole boys") spreading across our nation, although it's obvious that it has already begun. Let's hope we get through the reign of dubya with our freedoms intact.

I appreciate the info but I am going to stay here and stick it out! I proudly fly the US flag and I will never, ever, concede to the idea that the people on the right of my views have a stronger claim on American values and Liberty than I do! They effectively created this image last time the country polarized and they have ridden that horse to death (and it hurt the people who generally agree with my views this election). As I said, I appreciate the news. I have proudly said I support our troops (and I wish they were back at home where they belong), I support confronting terrorism (no matter who the terrorist is, supposed friend or foe), I support Civil Liberty, I even supported the Afghanistan excursion (I am not a Taliban fan and I am strongly opposed to religion and politics mixing in any way shape or form: so post the commandments in the church if you have trouble recalling them). I do not support the leadership of GWBush and the so called “moral right wing” agenda and I will speak out against it.

Again, thanks for the thought, but this is my land!

PS I saw George Will, at three in the morning on election night after the outcome was becoming clear, trashing Michael Moore and the vocal elements opposed to Bush as unsound moral characters.

My only hope...

Is that our current Prime Minster..(kinda like a president...but his party has to be able to control a majority in our House of Commons) has the guts Pierre Trudeau did and he will open our borders to the draft dodgers to come. Anybody ever think about how Homeland Security Border measures could be used to keep young people in the US when the draft is called. I give it 18 months, (after the great liberal announcement that women are allowed in combat) before the general draft is announced.

Seriously, I'm not considering a move to Canada... it's far too important that I stay here and try to 'fix' this place in some small ways...

But if anyone out there IS thinking of a move north... check out the Canadian Immigration website . It will give you the basic information you need to start planning.

My first grandchild was born in March this year - I talked to my son about the times she could see and 'bout Canada or any other choice - he had already put those thoughts in his head - I was a third generation marine - grandpa the war to end all wars - father the second war to end all wars - me and my brother the jungles of crap - WAR IS A RACKET - thanks for hoping for us - REALLY !!

Yea I heard on the radio here today that the Prime Minister is welcoming citizens of the U.S. to move to Canada. Well it's no use moving down to O.Z. as Dubyas mini- me is running this country. I did say I would move to Canada or New Zealand if Little Johnnie and Dubya won the elections but I agree I need to stick it out til the next elections in my two countries and hopefully help to change things and stop the erosion of our rights we have fought for over the last 35 years, but if it happens again I just don't know?
