Some people think you cannot break a dog that has got in the habit of killin' chickens, but my friend John Henry always claimed you could. He said the way to do it is to take one of the chickens the dog has killed and wire the thing around the dog's neck, good and strong. And leave it there until that dead chicken stinks so bad that no other dog or person will even go near that poor beast. Thing'll smell so bad the dog won't be able to stand himself. You leave it on there until the last little bit of flesh rots and falls off, and that dog won't kill chickens again.

The Bush administration is going to be wired around the neck of the American people for four more years, long enough for the stench to sicken everybody. It should cure the country of electing Republicans.

It gets better

Thanks kj and star!!!
It shows you the level of fear and dread people are feeling. When I first heard the results and had not yet been to these boards and the only Americans here in OZ I know well are my Dad, Sis and Bro, the first things I felt were "I'm gonna move to Canda (as OZ is still run by W's mini me) and for a second I felt an overwelming dispair, as I saw the struggles fought and won over the last 35 years flashing before my eyes and slipping away, and I thought " I can't bear this!!"
Well what a relief to see (even though I knew there are plenty of others out there)that others are feeling the exact same, in our papers here, on-line, like the articles you have posted and on Mike Moore's site. It made me feel much stronger, not alone, and ready to fight on.Mike Moore put so much into the fight and I thought surely he must be so devastated and disheartened, and then I go to his site and find "17 reasons not to slit your wrists" and also the names of all the servicepeople killed in Iraq ( it breaks my heart when I see the honour roll nearly every evening on Lehrer)I think that is 1000 and more good reasons to get ready for Election 2008.

When I read the first phrase, I thought, "That sounds like Molly Ivins." Sure enough, it was. That woman's words are better than chicken soup for a sore heart. Thanks, Star!
