With apologies to Country Joe and the Fish

Oh come on young Americans
Uncle Sam needs your blood again
He got caught trying to grab the oil
So now its up to your sweat and toil
Put down that book and turn off your brain
It didn't end with Sadaam Hussien

And its one, two, three
Who are we going to attack
This month I think IRAQ,
maybe Bin Laden's back

Its five, six, seven
Don’t show the coffins fly
Sit home, believe the lies
Don’t you start wondering why
The Young people die

Come on, American businessmen
Cheney did, you know you can
Make your millions from dropping bombs
Its an old story, like this song
Blast it down, build it up
All with the US Buck

Chorus

Come on parents, fill their heads
With hate and fear like you did with Reds
Forget your protests, forget Nam
Forget you once sang a different song ß (All we are saying is give peace a chance)
You’ve learned that War is necessary
To get gas for your SUV

And its one two three
What we did protest for?
To end another war
Injustice, hatred more

And its five six seven
Where did our conscience go
Don’t ask me I don’t know
It was so long ago.
But if we don’t start to wondering why
We’re all gonna die

Wow, katy... great new lyrics for the "Fixin to Die Rag"

I don't think apologies to Joe are needed... he actually posts lyrics that people send him ... check out "Fixin To Die Rag"

You might want to post these lyrics over there, too!

Thanks! and welcome to Blunderland!

Neat lyrics! Why not send them to Country Joe? I bet he'd get a big kick outta them... <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>

From one lyric writer to another, great stuff, Katy!

I think we've found somebody to represent us at the song-writing contest in Oklahoma!

The contest links are somewhere in the Joe's Lyrics thread, at the Blunder Board.

The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival folks keep their stuff about as up-to-date as some Blunderites I know (me), but here's the page on this year's songwriting contest: LINK
