Just heard it on the radio, & it's a bummer---Johnny Carson dead at 79 in LA.

Nobody on TV was funnier, IMHO. Haven't been able to watch late-nite TV since his retirement.

I don't know how or why Americans put up with what passes for television these days. Turn it off people.

I remember once Arlo was on the tonight show. But something happened and the producer got all pissed at Arlo for foolin' around and wearin' a big cowboy hat or somethin'

Anyone else recall or am I dreamin'?

Well there was a few rumors in those days about Arlo foolin' around - but I couldn't picture Arlo wearin' a cowboy hat - what would Jack think ? "that kid trying to steal my gig <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/wink.gif" width=15 height=15>

I am serious, I think he was also messin around with lyrics and going back and forth with the producer, who was a pretty conservative fellow apparantly. I think Arlo got mischievous after having to submit written lyrics for review if I recall! Anyone remember this, I'm pretty sure it was Arlo!

I've seen Arlo in a cowboy hat but I never saw him on the Tonight Show. I read he was on there & Mike said he saw it. Man I miss everything but it was the 60's lol... In fact I was talking with Mike about that last nite & now I come here find this being discussed here. Cool.
