Well today is election day this side of the pond if any of you are interested.

Blue (Conservitive) don't really stand much chance. The big thing most have there eye on is what is going to happen between the Red seats (Labour) and the Yellow seats(Liberal Demacrats).

Most think that Labour will get in again but most of the grass root labour supporters, mostly because of the war, NHS and Europe are reluctant to vote Labour. But they will refuse to go over to Tory so they will go the middle and vote Lib Dem, as the Lib Dem's are more Labour thees days than the Labour party.

Now though there is a slight chance the Lib Dems will get in it's more a question of just how many seats they can take off labour, thus decreasing his merjority. If they can get enough seats then when it comes to Shrub wanting to pay a vist to Iran then his lap dog wont have such a loud bark.

No prize for guseing who we voted. I'll let you know when we know.

Oh, yes, Beverley, we've been watching the news about it and praying and hoping; you've been on my mind a lot, I didn't say so before but I've been sending Blundervibes for you to have a lot of others vote the way you do.

Here's hoping that, after the disapointment stateside and here in OZ, it will be 3rd time lucky!! So then we can say "One down 2 to go!"

Well the exate figures arn't in yet but it when how we all expected. But in a way that is good news.

Bliar's majority when down from 160 to 66 now though that looks like a big defeat 66 is still a lot more than what some govenments have got in on. But it dose mean some of his more radical plans are going to be a lot more dificult to implament, ID cards Europe and when it comes to it Iran.

The consevitives satyed pretty much the same, but the lib dems like I said, those who defected from labour when to the Lib dems and from they took 2-3% of the defected vots from labour with the rest going to independant partys.

One of those independant partys being Mr G Galloway. He was asked to leave labour after he spoke against them about the war. He only just, by the skin of his teeth won against Labour but he did win.

So like I said Good news for the Lib Dems, not so good news for Labour and no one seems to be paying too much attention to the Conservitives.

Bliar did say in his victory speach, that the people have spocken, and he now needs to listen more to what the people of Great Britn want!
should have done that in the first place if you ask me.
And aparantly he is going to step down as leader this tearm though he hasn't said when.
So!?!?!

I always thought Blair was a fairly reasonable fellow as professional politicians go and I remember my shock and surprise when he took GW seriously. I had really hoped Blair could have been more of a moderator between GW, on a global scale one of the true village idiots, and the leaders of other areas closer to Britain. It seems to me some of GW's motivation for the catastrophe in Iraq was a spiteful temper tantrum resulting from France and Germany disagreeing with him (with feeling). He was like puffing up and saying, I'll show you the power of a US President. I had hopes that Tony would pull him aside and say cool your jets hot rod, this may not be the best possible route to the future. Then, there was a series of disappointments, that I believe set the human race back immeasurably!



I certainly hope that when it comes to Iran Tony will we be a little more contemplative and rational and, yes even cowboy-like in his relationship with GW.

But Beverley, what do you think of this Gordon Brown character? I hear he may be slim shady with your public funds.

Gordon Brown! I honestly don't think he'll be any better. It's all very disheartening.

He may have said that he listens to "the people", Shelly. He just didn't say which people! The people with money? The people with power? The people who want war? The people who are destroying Mother Earth for their own short-sighted profit and gain? I probably should have put the word people in quotes!
