513 years ago and it is still which side are you on

I met and talked to Russell Means at a gas station in SD years ago - I did not know it was him till later inside the station when the owner asked if I knew who that Indian I was talkin' to was - then I had a face to put with a name I had heard and read about - I always think 'bout him on October 12
Here is one view point of Columbus Day http://www.indigenouspeople.net/russmean.htm

Great stuff myland2. The indigenous people here have the same problem with Captain Cook "Discovering" Oz.

HOGWASH!!!!!!!!!

I often imagine how beautiful my two countries would still be if they hadn't been DISCOVERED!

513 years ago, some Italian guy gets into a Portugese boat looking for India, and finds America, which the Vikings in their boats found 500 years earlier after a bunch of people from Asia walked to the same place some 30,000 years before, and now the banks are closed. Is it possible that George W. Bush had something to do with this?

Well since Larry had to drag George W in to this thread - I went lookin' for something to add to it - and lo and behold - IT DID NOT TAKE LONG TO FIND SOMETHING <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/evil.gif" width=15 height=15>

WASHINGTON - It was billed as a conversation with U.S. troops, but the questions President Bush asked on a teleconference call Thursday were choreographed to match his goals for the war in Iraq and Saturday's vote on a new Iraqi constitution.
