I live in Las Vegas and in recent weeks a beautiful 2 year old was found dead in a trash dumpster. As of date she has not been identified.. This pisses me of I can't even describe this feeling being a mom & grandmother I just cry for this little girl. If you all don't mind I would like to share something I wrote about this.
When has something as precious as life become disposable
Something tossed out like the garbage
When has a child become so insignificant that
They are tossed into the dumpster with things we no longer want.
Children learn from what we teach, the future is what they learn from the past
Will our actions teach our children to toss us out when they no longer want us.
Do we stop to think before we act?
Do we want to be the scholars of self destruction?
We need to teach the future to learn from our mistakes
To look ahead at what stands before them to embrace and appreciate the now
To look beyond the black & white, to see the full spectrum of what can be
A world of patience, tolerance and love.
To look at what we don’t understand and not fear it but
Accept the challenge it presents
When we toss our future out what will be left?

I agree with you Wyld I feel like crying too!
A child is a precious thing and a gift from God. What a f***ing sick world we live in! Everytime you turn on the radio,TV, or webaccess every day the news is always about a child severely beaten or killed. Makes me very angry and emotional. When I am out shopping, there are times where I see parents hitting babies and small children in public. I mean kids getting picked up by their arm out of a socket and pounding them or hitting a baby in the face or verbally abusing them by using the F word! I just want to call Department of Children and Families and report it! Later on down the road the child is going to have behavioral problems and causing trouble and even getting killed! That is my own opinion of a child being disposed! I think parents need to think twice about planning parenthood or the birth of a child if they cannot keep commitments of raising a child. Commitments such as responsiblity and finances. What ever happened to antidepressing news? That is a hard question to answer look at the society we live in today S-I-C-K!

Awww, this is so sad. How people can do this to a child I'll never know...

This is one of the many sad things that happen in these sad times we live in; I like to think that we, and there must be others, are the few that make it all worth trying to save.

This story kind of mirrors a story that was in the news a day or two ago. I can't remember what country it was, but a man was by a river with friends when he heard wimpering comeing from a plastic bag floating by. Thinking that someone was trying to drown a cat he found a long stick and fished it out the river only to fined a two month old girl inside, very wet and cold but otherwise fine. She hadn't been registered or anything but she had recanly been vacanated and was dressed in a new pink dress and hat. When they traced her mother she told police that she was struggling to surive herself and had given the baby to a group who she had been led to belive where going to pass the baby on for adoption abrode where she would have a much better quality of life. I am tending to belive the mother in this case, as the baby had been vacanated and had been well looked after.

But the knock on effect from the way we treat and behave around our children is a truly sad thing. My friend owns a pub that at one time had a bad rep, but she is turning it around to be a family pub and slowly suceeding. At Christmas though I was in there having a Christams meal on Monday lunch time with my writers circle. I had Arlo with me, he had got board with squashing his food and was wandering round the lounge watching the lights on the bandit when a woman not much older than me came in from the next room followed by a little girl, she put about £10 into this thing while the little girl played with Arlo. I asked my friend didn't it bother her when peole came in for hours on end with such small childeren just to drink with out haveing a meal; she just looked kind of sad and said that you see all sorts in here!
