Register with True Majority Action and they will send you emails that will fax your congresspeople on issues concerning peace, justice and sustainability if you decide that any of the issues needs their attention. This site has a cartoon explaining the concept starring Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream (a cool guy from a cool company. Mmmmmmm....Cherry Garcia!)

For a more detailed, cartoonless explanation of what they do go to:
http://www.truemajority.org/

I had problems trying to register through the "oreo" animation site, but none through the "cartoonless" site (the second web addy above).

Here's what they sent me after registering.

OK. So you saw something about TrueMajority somewhere or you
responded to one of our e-alerts. What exactly have you gotten
yourself into this time?

We started TrueMajority in order to compound the power of all
those who believe in social justice, giving children a decent
start in life, protecting the environment, and America working
in cooperation with the world community.

TrueMajority is endorsed by all the organizations listed at the
end of this email. And the amazing part is that it only takes 2
minutes a month and it's free.

Here's how it works:

1) We monitor what's going on in Washington based on the
following principles:

1) Attack world poverty and hunger as if our life
depends on it. It does.
2) Champion the rights of every child, woman and man.
3) End our obstructionism to the world's treaties.
4) Reduce our dependence on oil and lead the world to an
age of renewable energy.
5) Close the book on the Cold War and end the nuclear
nightmare forever.
6) Renounce Star Wars and the militarization of space.
7) Make globalization work for, not against, working
people.
8) Ensure equal treatment under law for all.
9) Get money out of politics.
10) Close the gap between rich and poor kids at home.

2) When your voice counts we send you a short email alert that
explains the situation.

3) If you choose to send a message to your Congresspeople you
can just send the email back to us. When you send the email back
to us by hitting reply, our computer recognizes you and
generates a message from you to your Congresspeople. That's it.

There are over 50 million of us that share these concerns but
we've ended up fragmenting ourselves because each of us can only
concentrate on one or two issues. Or for some of us we've just
felt powerless. TrueMajority can unite us into a force that is
even more powerful than the Christian Right or the NRA.

So we hope that you will respond to TrueMajority e-alerts when
they come your way. And if you like our stuff, that you'll
forward it on to your friends.

Also, be sure to check out a cool animated video of me using
Oreo cookies to show how our federal budget's priorities are
out-of-whack. It's been seen by over 2 million people, and you
can find it here:
http://www.truemajority.org/oreos

Enjoy and thanks for helping!

Ben Cohen
Co-founder, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream

* I am writing this email on my own and not on behalf of Ben &
Jerry's, which is not associated with the TrueMajority campaign.

Endorsing Organizations:

Campus Greens, Rainforest Action Network, Utne Reader, Womens
Action for New Directions, Global Exchange, Rock the Vote,
National Council of La Raza, Service Employees International
Union, National Head Start Assoc., Sojourners, Peace Action, The
Interfaith Alliance, Physicians for Social Responsibility,
United for a Fair Economy

Hi, CapZap!

I've been on their list for a while now... I always learn something from their email alerts. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront again!

edited to add:
Wonder if being on their list puts me on "THAT" list... LOL
