Terrie, I feel your pain and sadness.

You know that life can't be fair when people in their mid-40's like Dana Reeve (Chris Reeve's widow) and Kirby Puckett (Hall of Fame baseball player) get taken away from us.

We need a new word in the dictionary combining beauty (looks AND personality), selflessness, and courage. When we come up with that word, we can put it next to a picture of Dana Reeve. I hope the things she was fighting for go forward big-time.

Hadn't heard of Dana Reeves passing until I read it on here. So sorry to hear about ber. Her husband Christopher I feel helped Mike & I in falling in love & getting married for you see we went to see his Superman movie on our first date. She was a brave woman. RIP & God Bless...

I too was saddened by Dana's demise. IF THERE EVER WAS A SAINT, it would be Dana Reeves!!!

I sometimes wonder, and think things happen for a reason. ( No I'm not a right winged Christian lad, who truely believes that Dana will be greated by her late husband, at the pearly gates. And everything is fixed.) Quite the opposite..

BUT, I do feel, that with Dana's demise, people will remember the Christopher Reeves legacy, more than ever before. It's the shock and aue, about a young woman dying from a disease that mostly smokers get. Dana didn't smoke. But as the world knows, she did support her husband, thru the good times, and the ugly. That combined with her early demise, will etch in people's memorys.

It's kinda too bad, that it takes someone dying to have thier memory enhanced. But I believe that to be true... ( just think of Jimi and Janis )

AND I do believe, that either by stem cell therapy, or just science getting better, that people with paralisis, will find a cure.... & when they do, people's first thought will be that of Dana and Chris Reeves...

e.p. lots of bad diseases in the world. Not much was known about Bi-Polar Illness as little as 20 yrs ago... ( aka: manic-depression) Years of research have broadened the scope of having a more normal life.

It's like when Kurt Cobain died. It wasn't drugs, that killed him. Bi-Polar Illness did him in. ( suicide rate is 10X's higher for people with manic-depression)

Almost like Arlo's FBI story, about 'the last guy'... When you have a disease such as Bi-Polar Illness, one feels so alone. Then a millionaire rock star, does himself in. He's the last guy.. It makes you feel better your not alone, in your malady..

Such a cruel disease. But it helps ever so slightly, learning that, Manic-depressives share allot of the same likeness... e.p. creative, artistic, and highly intelligent..

Here's to Vincent Van Goh, Abe Lincoln, and Kurt Cobain, Patty Duke Austin, Rod Steiger, ntm: Brian Wilson (beach boy fame) for helping me to understand....( myself better)

It would be great if in fact, she met Chris not in a wheelchair, in heaven. With the Beach Boys song playing in the background. "Wouldn't it be nice"

The Hartford Courant newspaper has the editorial cartoonist Bob Englehart. I don't always agree with him (Maybe that's good. Gets you to thinking, no?) but he did have a couple of touching cartoons. One, when Chris Reeve passed away, had Superman rising in flight away from an empty wheel chair. Thursday's had planet Earth in the background with Dana Reeve flying away in the arms of the "Man of Steel".
