WASHINGTON - More and more people, particularly Republicans, disapprove of President Bush's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency.

Nearly four out of five Americans, including 70 percent of Republicans, believe civil war will break out in Iraq - the bloody hot spot upon which Bush has staked his presidency. Nearly 70 percent of people say the U.S. is on the wrong track, a 6-point jump since February.

"I'm not happy with how things are going," said Margaret Campanelli, a retiree in Norwich, Conn., who said she tends to vote Republican. "I'm particularly not happy with Iraq, not happy with how things worked with Hurricane Katrina."

Republican Party leaders said the survey explains why GOP lawmakers are rushing to distance themselves from Bush on a range of issues - port security, immigration, spending, warrantless eavesdropping and trade, for example.

I was listening to the radio this mornin' and the White House was whining that the killings - car bombings - violence -attacks - death and destruction was getting so much news cover that all the good things are being over looked <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/confused.gif" width=15 height=22> well I guess thats as good as they can come up with and it surely will be good enough for some -

Mike found out we get a free preview of the Showtime channels for a week. So I was flipping thru them & came across Fahrenheit 911. The last 40 mins of it. So I decided to watch it just to see what all the hype was about. I had to flip over to the weather when it was time for that & when the weather was over, then back to the movie. It doesn't change my mind one bit. I still like Dubya. If anything I think it'll make thos who liek Dubya like him more & those who hate him not change their minds. It made me stop to pray for Dubya as he needs our prayers & not hate. I bet I suprised ya'll that I watched it.
