Newport was a real good time. I was able to stay for only the Saturday concerts. The whole scene has become much calmer than it was in the 60s but so have I.

My favorites were Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and their rendition of "Polka On The Banjo" and Willie Nelson and his band and their rendition of Steve Goodman's song
"Riding On The Railroad of New Orleans."
Yes, I sang right along with Willie, the way I had learned to do from going to Arlo gigs.

Sounds like a nice show! They should've had Uncle Arlo there. After all he was their biggest act there. Hope ya get to make it to Ocean City, NJ Aug 21 to see Uncle Arlo!

Sounds interesting, everything so cooled down, since a generation or so...LOL I like quiet and "mellow" moods at that sort of gig.
Don't get me wrong I love to raise hell, and I'm great at doing that. But there's times to sit back and relax, and soak up the moment. Happy for ya rabbit, anyone deserves it, it's you!
