On another forum a Canadian Faith-Ann has done an intensive search for a song her dad used to sing to her. It means a lot to her, and what she clearly remembers were the lyrics:

cause i'm still your dear old daddy and you're still my little girl
(...)
your mother and your father separated years ago
I have something I should tell you cause you have the right to know

It was a 40s/50s sentimental cowboy-hillbilly ballad, she remembers it being played on a jukebox.

Many suggestions were made, but so far no solution has been found. It seems the solution is not to be found on Internet. It was suggested to be a song by Wilf Carter (aka Montana Slim), but no song of him seems to fit in.
Might be one of the visitors of this forum might know the solution. It was a 40s/50s sentimental cowboy-hillbilly ballad (like Woody G. also done a little), she remembers it being played on a jukebox.

For direct contact with Faith-Ann you can mail her at email

I'm lookin into it, Kees. If I might say so boldly and confident on a gamble, I hope to have something by the end of this week. But Janet on the other hand, will probably have it nailed by no later than Wednesday.
Wanna help, Kerry ?
