Hello, everyone ! Big Arlo fan. So I've been into writing kid's poetry lately, and this is what I came up with as a result of an ongoing battle with my employer over "rules." Arlo, is there anything I need to do besides cite "Woody" and use " " around his lyrics ? Please let me know.
Peace, all...

Rules
Rules have been set to protect us,
And also to stop us from getting out of line.
When one is broken we must look
To see who is wrong and who is right.
Sometimes it’s not so easy,
As the rules may not seem so clear.
But in each rule lay the truth
Which in due time will appear.
If we break a certain rule,
And we know that we are wrong,
We accept responsibility,
Discipline, learn from it and move on.
But if we follow all the rules,
And suddenly wrong’s said to be right,
We must question that which was said,
And have courage and our goal in sight.
Our goal is to prove we did no wrong,
And we show those who made the rules,
That they were followed all along,
And we will not be treated as fools.
In the end we will prove our case,
We will be right and they wrong.
Obey the rules, master them well,
For truth is precious, like Woody’s song:
“As I was walkin – I saw a sign there
And that sign said – no tress passin’
But on the other side…it didn’t say nothin !
Now that side was made for you and me !”
