I saw Odetta in concert tonight... She did a show at the Colorado College Shove Chapel. Radislav Lorkovic backed her up on piano. It was a thoroughly heart-warming, beautiful show. Odetta is in her seventies, gets around in a wheelchair, and has an oxygen tank handy. But she still "has it" ... her voice is magnificent, and her message is of love and respect.

I was able to speak with her for a few minutes after the show (Dick Celeste, the President of the College introduced me to her as Arlo's friend). She sends her love to all... especially to Arlo and all the Guthries. (She also mentioned ONI, as being an 'old soul' - she certainly is right about that!)
