Dennis Hopper's Birthday. He's gotta be one of my fav actors. Did anyone like, " Life on Mars". Anything Steven S. directs can't be too bad. I just hope, they continue the series, and don't squash it, just when it's getting really good. nice ending tho, if that's the case.....

Funny story, I saw the movie Star Trek last night. I was just telling, my guitar partner, Richy, that the original Star Trek Cast is all getting too old to make cameo perfomances, and Leonard Nimoy, ends up being in the script...... Did he get so old he wears dentures, or the case of bad bridgework>>??? ( only his dentist knows for sure ) you would think, if the technology is there, to shed a few pounds off Captain Kirk in the older films, they could get rid of Spocks, chomping sounding chompers?????

Oh well great film... Part #2 should be good.... They seem to have reformed a solid cast. Ironic how they sqeezed in so many metaphors of the old episodes....... I think the only thing I didn't hear was "Beam me up scotty".... ( either that or I was zoning out )

I'll have to be the contrarian. I saw it and my opinion is they've destroyed the franchise. It doesn't mean they won't make another or make a lot of money, but it seemed to me that everything that made Star Trek great was thrown away as "Boomer Baggage". Poor plot, no depth to the characters, little development that didn't involve a sock to the jaw, and no memorable female characters. It's a chop socky wire-fu special effects cartoon.

This is the Star Trek that Desilu wanted and Roddenbery refused to give them by refusing to get rid of the guy with the ears and keeping the 'charming negress'. Somehow I think it will be a big hit because these are the days when rebranding passes for original thought. Millennials aren't long on talent.

Did you ever see him in "Blue Velvet"? He took nukin' futs to a way new limit in that crazy flick. By the way, Happy Birthday Dennis!
