Imagine traveling for 9 hours and arriving in an old English Pub for a pint of bitters and being greeted by a barmaid from Galway, ah, but you gotta love the Irish.

From Fairy Tale in New York (An Irish Christmas Tale)

You were handsome
You were pretty
Queen of New York City
When the band finished playing
They howled out for more
Sinatra was swinging,
All the drunks they were singing
We kissed on a corner
Then danced through the night

The boys of the NYPD choir
Were singing "Galway Bay"
And the bells were ringing out
For Christmas day

The Pogues

Ah but I had some Brilliant Adventures in old Londinium!

so you dove right into the belly!
maybe we will get to hear about some of these brilliant adventures in olde londinium sometime!

today i swear i saw an emu! "look! an emu!...is that an emu?" "yep."
and then further on up on the other side of the road i saw a llama! "look! a llama!...is that a llama?" "yep."
then i saw white lace tablecloths hung outside to dry. "i believe that we are out in the country, yes this is sholy it!"

I have not put thoughts of Londinium together yet and last night my notes were taken from my car in the middle of the night by some youngster buck (I assume) who thought it cool to prowl other people’s property I suppose. It was quite the haul here in the Susquehanna valley, an old worn and dirty Eddie Bauer jacket with two small notebooks of scratching made in Londoninium by an Okie on a pilgrimage to the great Kinkdom. I haven’t written yet because I don’t know if I could capture the feel of what I experienced over there riding the tubes and searching out the haunts of Billy Shakes, Ray Davies and (yes) even the Fab Four and getting pissed as farts and walking the late night streets of Finchley and Muswell Hill (the Northern Line of the tube was down for repair that weekend forcing a little more night air than normal probably but I felt it a blessing at the time because I love to walk at night when pissed as a fart and besides the weather was beautiful), trying to get the feel of being a young rock and roll punk from Muswell Hill in the late fifties early sixties. It is funny that my notes were taken by some young punk wondering aimlessly in the Susquehanna night I suppose, I don’t know. So maybe I will feel like writing soon before it slips from my mind. I hope so, for I hate it when life slips away.

psb...
i am really sorry to hear that, i'm here to tell ya...
if i happen to hear someone talking of suspiciously familiar adventures in muswell hill and about being pissed as farts, i will tackle them and demand back the two notebooks...and if it happens that i have tackled you after all...well, fancy that!? (don't anyone get the wrong idea, that was meant to be funny)
really though, you might be surprised at how much you can remember...those bits and pieces you've said up there already sound like a pretty good start.
hang in there, kiddo...
