Just saw a very well-done documentary on "American Masters" that presented a really thorough examination of the essence of Woody. The only thing I couldn't figure out is why Arlo got exactly one mention, and only one appearance in the background of a photo taken of Woody in the hospital.

Nora had lots of airtime, as well as Pete Seeger. ADG, if you're around, care to weigh in on this? Did they approach you about appearing?

I just finished watching the same documentary and very timely for me as our family has been "touched" with Huntington's disease and I also was interested in the fact the Arlo wasn't interviewed.

I too enjoyed this but wondered why they didn't have Arlo on there. They did show a cut4e baby pic of him on there. Awww... And Nora looks so much like Woody. Hoefully ADG will jump in here & fill us in...

I too wondered why it was an Arlo-free documentary. Nice to see Nora (I had never seen her on camera before) but Arlo's presence was missed. For more on Woody (and my guess it was the prime souce for this film) read Ed Cray's Ramblin' Man: the Life and Times of Woody Guthrie. Well detailed 2004 biography that I just finished reading. Cray was featured in this PBS film.
