Folk rock songwriting legend Bob Lind is as brilliant as ever and he's playing a show in Toronto on October 28th at folk mecca Hugh's Room. Arlo plays the night before at Massey Hall. Arlo and Bob are old friends, so perhaps they'll check each other out. What a glorious weekend in Toronto for legendary performers- two gentlemen of song![/b]

I had no idea they were friends. I always like Elusive Butterfly. I heard somewhere or read somewhere that Bob Lind now writes for the Weekley World News tabloid. Pretty interesting...

I met Bob Lind years ago at the Indian River Festival, a festival in Florida Arlo used to be involved with. He was a really sweet guy, and I enjoyed hanging out with him a little. I remember standing in a parking lot, listening from a distance, as he sang a song he had written recently to Jackie Guthrie and Richie Havens. It was beautiful and gave me the chills. A few years later, I picked up a Richie Havens CD which had a Bob Lind song on it. I always wondered if it was the same song.

I would like to add that Bob Lind has a site at boblind.com and a message board accessible from that site. I lived in So. Cal during the mid-late 60's so had the opportunity to see Bob often at local clubs. I just wish he'd perform here in VA soon. Jackie Guthrie has 2 or 3 videos of Bob Lind singing at youtube.

Sorry to just jump in here. This is my first post on this board. I thought I joined it years ago but couldn't remember who i was then. Don't laugh. I admit it....I'm AARP material.

Welcome from another Virginian. Up near Richmond way. Don't worry Mike my hubby is AARP material too. That would be neat if Bob Lind came here to VA...

Thanks for the welcome, though according to my directions Richmond is southeast of me a ways. I'm in Cul-l-pep-uh county but in my short 4 years here I have been to Richmond a couple of times.

Yes, would love to see Bob Lind here. I did see that Mary MacCaslin is performing down in Charlottesville soon. Haven't seen her in many years.

I noticed I'm a blundervirgin-at my age that's quite a feat. I blunder often but the other ..... well....I tried recovery in the Virgin River in Utah a bazillion years ago and it didn't work. Had I known all it took was just to sign on here...
