Howdy - I've been listening to The Essential Earl Scruggs lately and there's a version of "I Saw the Light" the Hank Williams song. The credits are kind of limited - it just says Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, but there's a verse with two women singing (no women in the Dirt Band to my knowledge) and another vserse that sure sounds like Arlo. I was just curious - anyone know if that's him on the track?

Kevin, that voice you hear is more than likely by a guy who goes by the name of Arloff Boguslavaki, whose voice sounds so much like Arlo's, it's uncanny. So much mystery surrounds this individual that even Geraldo Rivera shys away.

Arlo was on an Earl Scruggs album called I SAW THE LIGHT WITH SOME HELP FROM MY FRIENDS. They credited him on it as being Arloff Boguslavaki due to the fact the album was on a different label than Arlos's. That song was one of the songs on the album. Great album. I have it. I believe Linda Ronstadt is on it too...

I have that album... no mention of Arlo or his alias any where on it. There were, of course, a lot of people with similar accents and voice timbre who played in Nashville at the time. Right off the top of my head, Roy Acuff could sound similar to Arlo, there were a couple more on the album that might have sounded similar.
