As some of you may know, Mary Travers (Mary, of Peter, Paul and ...) has been battling leukemia since last year. In 2 weeks she will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant. For more information, see www.peterpaulandmary.com , and keep her in your thoughts.

You can leave a note for Mary (and she'll get it!) at getwellmary@aol.com
Christine Lavin was kind enough to leave the web address for this on her site's front page. You can also register your bone marrow to possibly save other lives at http://www.marrow.org/ where they can tell you where to go in your area to do this.

This is what was posted on Christine's site...

Thanks to all who sent their jokes and/or get well messages to Mary Travers -- Christine dropped off 60 pages' worth today at the hospital last Thursday -- Mary was sleeping, but she spoke with Mary's husband Ethan who says yes, keep writing to her -- she loves it. The address is getwellmary@aol.com. Christine is on the road til next Wednesday -- that is when she will be printing out the next batch to bring to Mary, who loves the jokes, but she also loves the stories from fans who have been to PP&M concerts in the past, so keep 'em coming. They still desperately need people to register their bone marrow (quick and painless) -- if you go to www.marrow.org you can see where in your area you can do this. Mary is very matter-of-fact about all of this. She says, "Even if you can't save my life, you might save someone else's." You gotta love someone with such an open heart and generous spirit during such a difficult time. Thanks so much for spreading the word.

Found this online:

Entertainment: Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary to have marrow transplant

STAMFORD, Conn. Singer Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary will have a bone marrow transplant to treat her leukemia.
Travers writes on the band's web site, "We found a match -- well, almost. Nine points out of ten. I hate to say this but it's close enough for folk music."

Travers has been waiting for a bone marrow match after chemotherapy failed to stop the disease. She revealed her illness last year.

Her publicist, Heather Lylis, says Travers is expected to have the operation soon.
