Aw, Happy birthday to Pete (a little late!)

I had the privilege of singing with Pete once. (he wouldn't remember me, of course!) I was about 15, so this is going back to 1980. He was doing a free concert at Rutgers University in NJ. I went with my mom and sister. Right before intermission, he said, "If anyone out there can sight read music, come back stage." So, the 3 of us being musicians, we all went back stage. There were about 20 to 25 of us, if I remember right. I was the youngest. He split us into 2 groups and he taught us 3 rounds, but I can't remember what they were. Then we went out onstage in front of a few hundred people and sang them! We were standing in a semi-circle onstage, I was on one end, facing the center, and he was on the other end, facing the center. I can still remember him watching me as I sang. I was so excited! I'll never forget it.
