Back around 1973 or 74 I went to a concert with a friend who was going to Douglas University in New Jersey. At the time it was an all girl school affiliated with Rutgers University. We went to an Arlo Guthrie concert at which he did a totally different version of Alice's Restaurant. This version suggested that our government thought that our enemies were going to drop marijuana from airplanes on our country. I believe the song went on the say that the president got all the Betsy Ross's together to knit a flag this size of the United States that was to be raised above us and catch the drops. I was wondering if anyone has ever heard this version and also if it was ever recorded. Any help in finding this information would be appreciated.
