I first saw Gamble in Tallahasse circa 1975-76, and got hooked right away. Saw him many times over the years until his untimely death. Not only a great storyteller/guitar picker, but a real down-to-earth human being to just hang with - had some really memorable times with him. Been to the Fest twice, and it's definitely worth checking out. Great musicians, storytellers, and a great celebration of Florida's native son Folk singer/Storyteller.

I think Ray died some yrs ago, Obie passed on some yrs ago as well.

Ray died in 79 of a heart attack.

My brother and I were just talking about Officer Obie yesterday. He thought Obie died in the last couple of years, so I looked it up and he died in 94.

Thanks for the info. I do believe Obie died in 94, now that you mention it. RIP to both.
