Dear Arlo,
I write this letter because I was unable to talk with you in St. Cloud, MN, last November when I attended your concert there.
I was there in part on a mission laid down by a friend of mine, Randy Waagmeester of Rock Rapids, Iowa. Randy heard that I was going to an Arlo Guthrie concert and asked if I would make an effort to talk to you after the concert and thank you for all the work you’ve done in the fight against Huntington’s Disease. Randy is especially sensitive to the ravages of that disease. His grandmother, father, and uncle died from the disease, and his younger brother is in the advanced stages of it.
So Randy gave me one of those blue wristbands and told me that if you saw me wearing the wristband you’d take the time to talk with me. I tried to find you after the show (which was excellent, by the way) but was unsuccessful.
So I’ll take this opportunity to say “thank you” on behalf of the Waagmeeester family, who truly appreciates all you do to rid the world of this horrible disease.
