Oh boy I gotta buy the dvd now! Does anyone know if the dvd has scenes in it that aren't in the vhs version? I noticed on the dvd box in a store a pic of Arlo on the front of it that wasn't in the vhs version where he was wearing a fancy looking suit.

BTW the movie will be on Fix Wed. At 8 am & 8 pm I think...

Everything today sometimes is so cheap. ( yes wallmart ) and I was thinking of buying my Adoped Grandauter a flute, but they looked cheap and plasticcy... ( beside she's probly to young--- 13 mnths) Her parents hid the drumset Sue and I got her for her birthday... That had conga's and a harmonica included...

The same old broken record here on boards, but she loves Ring Around the Rosey Rag. ( maybe because her name is Rosey)??? But it's funny when she touches her nose, and blows (foos) on her toes.....

Haven't turned her on the the Car song yet.... I like the original by Woody.. My personnal favorite. Do you think she's like the Boss's version better???

If you don't have it yet, I'd highly recommend Woody's Grow-Big Songs... with Woody, Arlo, Arlo's kids, and I don't know who-all else.

I got her a small djembe drum for her first birthday... she loves that too... but her favorite instrument right now is the harmonica. For a flute, you might want to try a place like "Lark in the Morning".. it's online... www.larkinthemorning.com if you can't find anything locally. Or try 'the Nature Store'

I remember way back when that Album came out. I believe it was CBS covering that story, about the Woody songs literally coming outta the closet. And Arlo's colaboration with the Childrens songs, and the kids, and the grand-kids... Great stuff...

My Buddy called me on the phone, and said Arlo was on TV and was gonna be playin the piano and singing. Right he was. It was the VERY first time I had seen Arlo actually plug an album, and it was childrens songs. My sister in law thought me crazy that I was SO interested in that news piece.... I guess she doesn't have the child in her, that so many of us, still cherrish. At least from time to time...

A coworker told me today that she has something for me: a friend of hers gave her an old cassette tape of Alice's Restaurant! I wonder if it still plays? I'll be picking it up tomorrow at work. I just bought the 2 songs cassette and haven't figured out yet where we have a cassette-player, but I'm sure we do somewhere around here.

I hope I find time to visit the Rockwell Museum again this fall.... I'm especially interested in the painting's he did of Officer Obie... My Mom loved Norman Rockwell prints, and seemed to always have a calendar and books galore of the famous painter....

The funeral home where my dad was eulogized was like a mini-Rockwell museum, in family rooms, main lobby and an entire lower level of at least 4 rooms. Gigantic glass cases, framed prints, ceramics, books, all sorts of stuff. That was a long day for me and I was Rockwelled-out that day. Maybe by October, I'll be in a Rockwell state of mind again. I always loved the Scouting paintings. I have a few of those.

Does anybody know or maybe Arlo can answer this question, in the film where Arlo is in a club accompanying himself on guitar and harp he plays the song with the lyrics that state "go down to the water". It is the scene where Reenie runs into Arlo (and he gets tortured by the sugar death cake fairies) after he is done performing....no no not the ugly woman groping at him What is the name of the song? Just curious BTW I thought I was watching the wrong movie because the scene where that ugly woman gropes Arlo I thought I watching the "The Blair Witch Project"

I am curious about the song that Arlo is playing, you only get to hear about one line of it...

it sure sounds like: I want to ball you rag...

Then Arlo leaves the stage and is met backstage by friends & the bar owner. Arlo borrows $80 to get John's hanging art out of the apartment.

I have no idea about that line that sog. Both songs were never in soundtrack & I always wondered why. Maybe someone knows why out there. The O Brother song is "Down In The Valley To Pray" which Arlo wrote with the bluegrass singer Doc Watson. It's on Washington County & is a great song.
