hi KD....and y'all.....course as alot of you know, i can't actually walk the walk, except for a few steps here and there....so i do a combo thing a little walkin, a little pushin, a little riding.......
...just so you know that not bein up to doin a pretty long and somewhat demanding walk up that long last hill, shouldn't keep you from "walkin" if you want...

...one year i did a water station and it was a hoot....so whatever works for ya....

...so here's my quick rundown for KD and all new walkers...you get to the Church on time, hand in your sponsor sheets and funds, if you make the criteria, you get a t=shirt......and usually around 10am or so when everyone is signed up they bring in a whole bunch of balloons and everyone takes one....just so they know which side you're on....

..meanwhile, folks are meeting up and talkin and meeting new folks all around the Church......then usually Arlo and LisaG and Jim Pollard come out to the front steps and give a pep talk and some directions.....truthfully, i've never been close enough to hear much, but they look good....then you start walkin....

...it's a fantastically beautiful winding country road, and just follow the balloons and you won't get lost.....you'll meet a whole lot of new folks....and talk along the way and go at your own speed...... there's water and sometimes snacks at every mile and folks to cheer you on....

..usually they get a whole bunch of old (and new) VW busses to help out.....they cruise the route and if you want to ride just wave 'em down and they'll take you as far as you want to go.....so if you want to walk 1/2 a mile and ride into town.....that's cool.....those vw drivers are all in a service club and are so interesting to meet, too.... so it's like a Yoga walk...no pressure...do your own thing....

...there's some surprises that are alot of fun....and great photo ops and you're last stop is the former real Alice's restaurant where they have lunch and everyone talks for awhile and then the vw busses drive you back to the Church....
..so it's a hoot and for such a good cause and it always makes me feel just great to be doin it....wish i could share that feelin with all of you....

don't know if some details will change, but that's been my experience.....

...lookin forward to seein y'all...
...and get sponsors, even a few dollars from your friends adds up and goes to help so many!!......i can't remember the exact numbers they've raised in past years but it's been in the thousands of dollars ...

..well, that was as short as i could write it....;)

Thanks so much kj. It sounds great. I know Stockbridge well and that area is gorgeous, I'm sure I'll love walking it.

Off to find sponsors....
