Hi Folks , on line again ..... As I started this post sayin' , Arlo's version is

the most beautiful among others I ever heard .... when I listened it for the

first time and heard Arlo's narration , I felt deeply touched and get

enthusiastic and moved to read just a briefin' about the story .

I dont know exactly if Arlo changes the facts , but I guess , the feelin' that

he leaves in our hearts and what he teach us its ALL THAT COUNTS ,

not dependin' if John Newton's changed his mind and route sooner or

years later .....................

In the old arlos restaurant, before the hacking, i started a thread that looks exacly like this one. Ozzy, basicaly i said the same as u did in the opening thread.
The song is really touching isn't it?
Its so deep, it really touches me.

Well, what i heard is that the guy didn't turned the boat arround. He just stoped shiping slaves and started to write songs. Anyway, i think we can't never know when was he when he trully realized that slavery was wrong, maybe he did really turned the boat arround.
the important thing is that he could turn around, as as arlo said," he might have live a long time ago but he's a friend a mine today, everybody that can turn around is a friend a mine today", beautifull!

PS.: You american lucky guys! when does arlo, and a lot of other folk singers or american musicians in general decide to include europe in their tours? we europeans like american music!

Hi Pedro !!!! , where are you from ??? ..... for what I know Bob Dylan was

tourin' around Australia w. T.Petty in 1986 and England a couple of years

ago and I dont know what other countries , also he played at Budokan ,

Japan , so Bobbie was ramblin' around the world .... I felt satisfied just

listenin' him , Arlo , Neil Young , The Band , W.Zevon , G.Dead , T.Petty ,

Johnny Hiatt , J.Mellencamp , Indigo Girls in my jukebox , I know , its not

the same as a live concert ........... See you Folk
